Something addressed to you.
A year of physical correspondence for women. One envelope each month, with an original letter, a ritual, a journaling question, two recipes and music to accompany the theme.
Perhaps The Three Letters brought you here. Something stayed with you after you closed the email. A memory. An opinion. The thought that you might like another.
Girl Goes Postal continues that correspondence through your actual mailbox.

A letter that leaves room for you
It’s a pleasure when a conversation wanders somewhere you hadn’t expected.
An old song comes up, and you discover you still know every word. Someone asks where you’d like to go, and you remember a place you’ve been meaning to see. You find yourself explaining your very specific feelings about the correct shade of green.
Then, later, you realize you have a little more to say.
Girl Goes Postal makes room for that attention: what you remember, what interests you now, what you’ve changed your mind about.
Your life can be good. Your work can matter. You can love the people in it and still enjoy being asked a question you haven’t considered in a while.
Nothing has to be wrong for the conversation to be worthwhile.
What Girl Goes Postal is
A year-long reading experience built around Recognition: that small feeling of seeing something of yourself more clearly.
Each month explores a theme through original YGG writing and the things that accompany it. Across the year, the correspondence makes space for pleasure, memory, changing opinions, grief, curiosity and belonging.
A letter might begin somewhere ordinary and take you further than you expected. An old playlist brings back the girl who loved things extravagantly. A diary becomes a record of what mattered before hindsight arrived with corrections. A preference turns out to have changed while nobody was checking.
You bring your own experience to the page. You decide what fits, what interests you and what you’d like to follow.
Inside the monthly envelope
The letter
Original writing at the center of each month’s theme. Something to read slowly, return to, or keep folded inside a book.
The ritual
A small practice connected to the theme, available when you want to take the reflection into your day.
The journaling question
One question to explore in writing, think about on a walk, or leave open for a while.
The recipes
Two recipes, one sweet and one savory, inspired by the month’s theme. Something to make for yourself, share at your table, or keep for an occasion you haven’t planned yet.
The soundtrack
A playlist for every month, with opening songs chosen to stir your curiosity about the theme. You might recognize something immediately. Another track might send you looking up an artist while dinner takes its chances.
The Reading Room
A digital companion, accessed by QR code, with additional YGG essays, playlists and reflections for when you’d like to follow the conversation further.
Why a Reading Season?
Each Reading Season has a shared beginning. Women joining that season receive the same monthly correspondence, following its themes across twelve months.
You read in your own time. A letter might catch you immediately; another might wait until the weekend. There is no required pace for answering a question or deciding what it means to you.
Reading Seasons begin in February, June and October.
I’ll email you when enrollment opens for the next season, with the membership details and how to join.
Why paper?
A letter can stay where you leave it.
Beside the chair. Inside your journal. On the kitchen table, under something that absolutely should have been filed by now.
You can underline a sentence, write something in the margin, put it away. Find it again months later and discover that a different part catches your attention.
Over the year, you gather correspondence you can return to, with your own thoughts finding their way onto the page.
A note from Kate
I’m Kate Ginnivan, founder of YGG Collective and the woman writing these letters.
I wanted to keep writing to the woman who appears when the conversation gets interesting. The one with a story about that song, an opinion she’s revised, or something she could happily discuss until someone puts the kettle on again.
That’s part of what I loved about writing The Three Letters. There was room for humor and history, for a little tenderness, for enjoying the life you have while wondering what else might catch your attention.
Girl Goes Postal gives that conversation a year.
I chose physical letters because I like the thought of the writing having a place in your home. Folded into a journal. Left beside the chair. Picked up again when you have something new to bring to it.
I’d love to write to you.
— Kate
